NurseZone, the Internet's Largest Web site for Nurses, Expands Content Offerings

SAN DIEGO-NurseZone (www.nursezone.com), the nation's largest Web site for nurses, has expanded its content to better meet the needs of the nation's 2 million-plus nurses as a result of a strategic partnership with healthcare specialty site MDLinx. NurseZone, a division of AMN Healthcare Inc., now features more 'News by Specialty' articles, adding cardiovascular, psychiatry/psychology, geriatrics, immunology/infectious disease, orthopedics and a host of other multi-disciplinary news to the site. The content is updated daily.

In addition to the News by Specialty offerings, NurseZone provides its visitors with 'On the Job' information, including access to a database of close to 10,000 permanent, temp-to-perm and travel nursing jobs, career advice and state licensing information. NurseZone also covers news affecting today's nursing industry; provides information on continuing education, conferences, associations; as well as a look at the variety of options available to today's nurse, including careers in nurse informatics, military nursing, holistic nursing, travel nursing and many other career options.

The site also presents information for nurses' personal lives, including lifestyle stories, articles about holistic health, travel, finance, family life and time management.

"We asked nurses what they need to make their professional and personal lives more successful and then went to work securing ways to meet those needs and expectations," said Wendy Newman, director of NurseZone. "They asked for more research-oriented content, career and professional development information and real stories about nurses-this is our initial movement toward providing that. We invite our nation's nurses to visit us, sign up for our bi-weekly newsletter and to make us their nurse site of choice."

Newman also said that the site's community bulletin boards are increasing in popularity as nurses, students and other healthcare professionals share their experiences on and off the job.

"The discussions are lively, timely and important to nurses," she said. "We often feature several bulletin board topics in the NurseZone newsletter."

Nurses and others interested in the latest NurseZone news and features, delivered electronically, are welcome to sign up at NurseZone.com. For more information on NurseZone, visit the site or e-mail editor@NurseZone.com.
