In this field, an individual has the opportunity for extensive, continuing training, the chance to work from home and a flexible schedule. Travel is often required, however, and the hours may be long and irregular.
A sales representative should: have a professional, businesslike appearance; be organized, outgoing and self-motivating; have excellent communication and time-management skills; and be very business oriented. Some companies prefer a college education.
