10 Ways to Study More Effectively

Tape lectures and important clinical discussions with a handheld recorder.
Review your notes immediately after taking them to avoid confusion later.
Take breaks after long study sessions to give your mind a rest.
Organize your studying so similar subjects/topics are grouped together.
Find a "study buddy" to keep you on track and accountable.
Map out a study schedule—and stick to it!
Reward yourself with small treats after you have memorized vocabulary or accomplished a specific goal.
Eliminate all distractions: Cell phones, TVs, etc.
Highlight any topics you do not fully understand to ask your instructor about.
Space out your studying and give yourself plenty of time to learn material to avoid cramming and all-nighters.
