Oct. 22, 2009 - The National Student Nurses’ Association will host the 27th Annual MidYear Career Planning Conference, October 29 – November 1, 2009, at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, AZ.
Attendees will have a broad selection of activities to attend and the opportunity to hear nationally-known speakers discuss trends and issues relevant to nursing today. Specialty panels, workshops, exhibits, and an NCLEX-RN® review round out a conference designed to help students prepare for careers as professional nurses.
Keynote Speaker Kathleen Bartholomew, MN, RN, RC, national speaker, counselor, and author will present her address, “Tips and Scripts for a Grand Entrance.” Kathleen has been called “the most important new voice in American Nursing” with her latest books focusing on ending nurse-to-nurse hostility and improving doctor/ nurse communication, subjects that often expose hidden truths and emotion. Other popular book topics include communications for new nurses and the Image of Nursing.
Drexel University NCLEX® EXCEL! Will offer a 9-hour review on October 29, which covers selected topics frequently questioned on the NCLEX-RN® exam. Special attention is given to challenging content and test-taking skills. Students will learn strategies that work on all
tests, including the State Boards.
On October 30, the “Nursing: Opportunities, Trends, and Issues” panel will feature interactive dialogue with the audience about the latest trends and issues in the nursing profession.
